The main problem in Hong Kong is the declining birth rate.
This problem is a result of many factors that are influencing the way people live and how they view parenthood. There is a strong social pressure to get higher education, thus delaying parenthood.
Another factor is that healthcare prices are on the rise and there are not enough maternity leave benefits in Hong Kong.
None of these problems will be fixed overnight, but we can work on finding solutions to make living easier for parents and encourage more people to have children so that our population will not decline further.
