Best Answer

Equation of circle = x + y = r

X = r cos θ

Y = r sin θSquaring both sides,

x + y = (r cos θ + r sin θ)

= r (cos θ + sin θ)

x + y = r

Position of a point w.r.t. to circle

Let the circle be x + y + 2gx + 2fy + c = 0 and p(x , y ) be the point.

R – radius

cp > R , {Point lie outside}

cp = R , {on the curve}

cp < R , {inside the curve}
