Trishul is the name of a short range surface to air missile
developed by India as a part of the Integrated Guided Missile
Development Programme. It has a range of 9 km and is fitted with
a 5.5 kg warhead. Trishul flies in supersonic speed and has a low
altitude sensitive radio altimeter and height lock loop control on
board, to skim over the sea at a very low altitude and hit against
sea skimming missiles coming towards our ships.
