Mohan das karamchand gandhi (1869-1948),popularly known as bapu or the father of nation ,was more aspiritual leader than a politician .He succesfully used truth and non-violence as the chief weapons against the british rule in india and helped india gain independence.

Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 to Karamchand Gandhi and Putlibai. He was a lawyer by profession and an activist who fought for India's independence from British rule. He was also the leader of the Indian National Congress party.

Gandhi married Kasturba when he was 13 years old and they had four children - Harilal, Manilal, Ramdas and Devadas. He also had a son from his second marriage - Devdas Gandhi with his wife, Kasturba.
