The sun is the ultimate source of heat and light for the earth. As earth gets hot and hot. It becomes a radiating body and emits the longwaves of radiation. This energy makes the environment warm. This process is known as Terrestrial Radiation. These radiations are absorbed by the atmospherical gases like carbon- dioxide and other green house gases. In this way atmosphere is warmed by this Terrestrial Radiation.
